Castelbajac Pop Hours Watch at Watch Me Go

23Jan10

JC de Castelbajac, France’s answer to Vivienne Westwood, has created what we think is one of the coolest accessories for 2010. Inspired by the bright colours and shapes of Lego, Castelbajac has created the bold, 80s-retro ‘Pop Hours’ watch.

Following a limited release in Selfridges and Castelbajac’s London boutique last month, Watch Me Go has now snatched it up and we’re the first people to sell it online…

Castelbajac watchDesigner JC de Castelbajac has been mixing art and fashion for the last thirty years, winning fans as diverse as Madonna, Elton John and even the Pope! He (humbly) calls himself the King of Cartoon, taking ideas from pop art, Disney, Japanese manga and other parts of pop culture. Now the Pop Hours watch brings Castelbajac’s look to the high street.

It’s even better in the flesh than in pictures ‘cos it’s got a really nice weight and feel, plus cool invisible touch-sensitive buttons. The Lego-inspired links of the strap form a chunky band and the LCD screen scrolls the time, date and a JCDC message. It costs £129 and is worth every penny.
